Old clapboard does not want a pressure wand
Sturbridge carries more old buildings than most towns its size. Old Sturbridge Village anchors the west end, inns and older colonials line Route 20, and the Quinebaug starts its run here before heading down through the Quiet Corner. Painted clapboard, cedar shake, and original trim are common, and none of it takes kindly to pressure.
So we do not use pressure on it. Siding and roofs get a soft wash, low pressure and a biodegradable detergent that does the work. High pressure stays on concrete and hardscape. If your house has preservation requirements or original glazing you are worried about, tell us when you send photos and we will plan around it.
The other half of Sturbridge is the junction. Where Route 20, I-84, and I-90 come together the road grit is real, and it lands on everything for a few hundred yards. Text photos to (860) 553-9326 for a flat quote.
An owner is on a Sturbridge job from the first tarp to the last rinse. That matters most on a building where one careless minute costs real money. If anything looks off once we are gone, tell us and we are back inside 30 days.
