Wand-only pressure washing leaves streaks. We don't use it on driveways.
A surface cleaner is a spinning bar of nozzles inside a hood. It rides at a fixed height and overlaps every pass, so the whole slab gets the same treatment. That is the only way to get an even result on flat concrete. A wand cleans in stripes, and you will see every one of them the first time the sun comes in low.
Before the machine runs, we pre-treat. Degreaser on oil drips and on the pad where the car parks. A low-dose soft wash mix on shaded sections where algae has taken hold, because algae that is only blasted off is back in six weeks. Edges, steps, and anything the hood cannot reach get done by hand.
Around here the slab takes a beating from November through April. Road salt tracks up the driveway and soaks in, and freeze and thaw cycles pull that brine deeper into the pores. Oak and maple leaves that sat through the winter leave dark tannin stains behind. A spring cleaning gets the salt and the leaf staining off before it sets in for another year. Most driveways look right on a yearly cleaning. Shaded ones do better with a spring wash and a fall touch-up.

- Poured concrete: full surface cleaner pass, degreaser where it is needed
- Brick pavers: surface cleaner at reduced pressure, joint sand topped off on request
- Bluestone and flagstone: soft wash, because high pressure can fracture the stone
- Stamped and decorative concrete: reduced pressure, and we will tell you if it needs resealing
- Asphalt: light surface cleaning only, since asphalt gives up its binder under pressure
- Walkways, steps, patios, pool decks, and garage aprons
A typical driveway takes one to two hours. We rinse the slurry clear of the property rather than into your beds. Concrete keeps drying lighter over the next day, so the color you see while it is wet is not the finished color. Nothing needs to be moved except vehicles.
Single-car driveways run $150 to $225. Two-car and longer driveways run $250 to $400. Square footage, oil staining, and whether algae needs treating set the number. Text two or three photos to (860) 553-9326 and a flat price comes back, usually within the hour.
Concrete and hardscape are the only places we use high pressure. Siding and roofs get a soft wash instead. If pavers are fading or losing joint sand, cleaning is step one and paver sealing is step two. Wood is its own job, see deck and patio cleaning. Soft washing uses low water pressure (about the same as your garden hose) and a biodegradable detergent, the chemistry does the cleaning. Pressure washing uses high water pressure with no detergent. Soft wash for siding, roofs, painted surfaces, and anything porous. Pressure wash for concrete driveways, brick pavers, and stone. We pick the right method per surface.
Yes. Detergents are biodegradable and rinse out at low concentration. We wet down landscaping before applying anything and rinse again when we finish. We've never lost a plant. Tell us about anything specific you're worried about when you book.
We prefer photos because we can see what you're describing. Phone quotes tend to under- or over-estimate. Texting photos takes 30 seconds and we'll come back with an actual number.
Most jobs booked Monday hit the calendar by Friday. Peak season (June–August) we book 1–2 weeks out. Off-peak (April, May, September, October) we usually have same-week slots.
