Install it once. Light the house for any occasion.
Permanent outdoor lighting is a slim track that mounts under the eaves and along the trim lines. Each bulb sits in its own channel facing out, so in daylight from the ground you see a thin line of trim and not much else. At night it does whatever you tell it to from your phone.
Warm white for everyday. Full color for the holidays. Orange in October, red white and blue in July, school colors on a Friday night. Set a schedule and it turns itself on at dusk and off at bedtime.
The reason people around here buy it is the ladder. Hanging lights in late November in Connecticut means cold hands, short daylight, and a ladder on frozen ground, then doing it again in January to take them down. This gets installed once, on a dry fall day, and it is done. The track screws into solid wood, not into vinyl and not onto gutter face. We plan the runs before anything gets mounted so power comes from a spot that makes sense and no cords hang where you can see them.
Permanent lighting is not the same product as seasonal Christmas lights. People mix them up, so here is the difference. Seasonal Christmas light installation is a set of strands cut to fit your house, put up in November and taken down by mid-January. We store the lights at our shop and reinstall them next year. Most homes run $600 to $1,400, and that cost repeats every season. Permanent outdoor lighting is fixed track that stays on the house year round. You pay once, at $42 per linear foot, and after that they are yours to run whenever you want.
What gets lit is different too. Seasonal work covers eaves and rooflines, walkways, porch posts, and one tree by default, with additional trees, fences, or yard features quoted separately. Permanent track follows eave and trim lines only. If a lit spruce in the front yard is the part you care about, seasonal is the better fit, or you run both. If what you want is a clean roofline you never think about again, permanent wins. Seasonal install weeks in November go to whoever books earliest, so if you are leaning that way, get on the list well before fall.

What's included in a permanent lighting install.
Standard permanent outdoor lighting install includes:
- Site walk and a run-by-run design before anything is ordered
- Track installed under eaves and along trim, screwed into solid wood
- Programmable bulbs with a full color range plus true warm white
- Smart hub installed and the phone app set up with you
- Scenes pre-programmed for the major holidays
- Everyday warm white scene set to your taste
- Two-year warranty on bulbs and hardware
Most homes are a one-day install. Bigger homes with several rooflines can run into a second day. We do not mount track on gutter face and we do not drill vinyl. If a stretch of trim will not take a fastener safely, we say so at the site walk and design around it.
Pricing starts at $42 per linear foot of eave covered, so the number comes down to how much of the house you want lit. Plenty of people do the front elevation first and add the sides later. Send photos of the front and both corners to (860) 553-9326 and we will get you a range.
Fall is the best time to install, before the cold sets in and before the holiday rush. If you are not ready to commit, we also do seasonal Christmas light installation at $600 to $1,400 a season, which is a fair way to find out what you actually want lit.
Clean siding and gutters show off lighting better than dirty ones, so many people book a house wash and gutter cleaning ahead of the install. See service areas, or Windham County for our home turf.
