Rutland sits high, open, and in the weather
Rutland is the geographic center of Massachusetts and one of the higher towns around, which you feel in February. The Ware River runs the western side, Rutland State Park and a good deal of watershed land take up the rest, and Route 122A and Route 56 carry most of the traffic.
Elevation and open ground mean wind. Wind drives rain and snow against a wall instead of letting it fall past, so exposed elevations here weather faster than sheltered ones. Ice sits longer on north slopes too, which is why gutters matter more than people think. A packed gutter in a town like this backs water up under the shingle edge.
Plenty of Rutland properties still have a barn, a shed, or a run of fence left from when the land was farmed. Those go on the same quote as the house, not a separate trip.
Siding and roofs get a soft wash, biodegradable detergent at low pressure, landscaping wet down first and rinsed after. Concrete and hardscape are the only places we bring real pressure.
Rutland is far enough out that we schedule it by request. Text photos to (860) 553-9326 and we will send a flat price and a straight answer about timing.
