Holden sits above Worcester and gets the weather to match
Holden climbs as you go north out of Worcester. Route 122A runs straight up the middle through the town center toward Jefferson, Route 31 and Route 68 branch off it, and the Quinapoxet works east toward the Wachusett watershed. Chaffins sits at the southern end.
Winter leaves a mark here. Sand and salt off 122A and the connecting roads throw a gritty film onto the road facing side of houses, mailbox posts, and fences, and it sits there until somebody takes it off. Spring is the natural time to book, once the plows are done and before pollen season really starts.
The rest of the year it is the usual New England pattern. Shaded north walls go green, roofs streak on the slope that never dries, and gutters pack with maple and oak in late fall. All of it comes off with a plant safe detergent at low pressure. The pressure washer stays on the concrete.
Holden is a longer trip for us than our home towns, so we handle it by request rather than on a route. If a closer crew makes more sense for your job, we will say so plainly.
