Shade and age are the whole story here
Woodstock has some of the oldest housing stock in the corner and a canopy heavy enough to keep half of it in shade all summer. Route 169 runs the length of town as a scenic byway, Woodstock Hill holds a run of antique colonials, and Roseland Park sits below with the same old maples over it.
Shade and age are the whole story. Mature trees keep siding and roofs damp, which is exactly what algae wants, and the north wall of an antique colonial will go green while the south side still looks new. Old painted clapboard and cedar shake get a low-pressure soft wash with a biodegradable detergent, never a pressure wand. Roof algae gets the same soft wash approach ARMA recommends for asphalt shingle.
Text two or three photos to (860) 553-9326 and we will send a flat quote back, usually inside the hour, without needing to come out first.
The quote you get is the price you pay. Single-story house washing starts at $389 and a two-story colonial runs $475 to $575, with the number set before the date is booked. The certificate of insurance goes out ahead of the work, general liability and workers comp both.
