Thompson covers more ground than people expect
Thompson covers a lot of ground for a town most people only drive through. The green up on Thompson Hill is ringed by 18th and 19th century houses. Down the grade you get the mill villages along Route 193 and Route 12, with tighter lots and older siding. Out east toward Quaddick it is woods and water and long driveways.
Old houses on the Hill call for restraint. Original clapboard, wavy glass, and painted trim do not want a pressure wand anywhere near them, so we soft wash at low pressure with a biodegradable detergent and keep the water moving. The village housing gets the same treatment for the same reason.
