Union is mostly forest and a few hundred people
Union has fewer residents than any town in Connecticut and more standing timber than most. Nipmuck State Forest takes up a good share of it, Bigelow Hollow and Mashapaug Pond sit in the northeast corner, and I-84 cuts across on its way to Sturbridge. Route 190 and Route 171 handle everything else.
Houses out here sit under canopy, often at the end of a private drive, and plenty of them are on a well. Both facts change how we work. Under trees, siding greens on the shaded face and roofs streak within a few years, so the wash has to be gentle and chemical rather than forceful. We use a biodegradable detergent, wet the plantings down first, and rinse them again at the end. On well properties we plan water use before anything comes off the reel.
Cabins, camps, and small outbuildings near the ponds go into the same visit rather than a second trip out.
Pomfret is roughly thirty minutes east of here. Send two or three photos to (860) 553-9326 and you will have a flat quote back, usually within the hour, with no visit needed for most houses.
We carry general liability and workers comp, and the certificate reaches you before the first hose comes out. An owner runs every job.
