Coventry has a big lake in the middle and a village on its south shore. Wangumbaug, which most people just call Coventry Lake, holds moisture in the air all season, and the cottages and year round homes ringing it sit close to the water under mature trees. Route 31 runs north and south through South Coventry, Route 44 crosses the top of town, and the Willimantic River marks the southern edge.
