West Hartford was built on a grid and it stayed that way
West Hartford is dense by Connecticut standards, laid out street by street with houses close together and small yards between them. Much of the housing stock dates from the twenties and thirties, brick and stucco colonials, tudors, and center entrance houses with a good deal of trim and detail. Route 44 and Route 4 cross the town and I-84 runs along the southern side.
The setup takes as long as the wash here. Neighbors are twenty feet away, cars are parked on the street, and there is often no room to swing a ladder on the side of a house. We plan placement first, cover what needs covering, control overspray, and leave the walk and the driveway rinsed when we go.
Brick and stucco both punish a pressure washer. Stucco chips, mortar joints open up, and neither one comes back. Those surfaces get chemistry and low pressure only.
Windows on a house of this vintage are worth doing properly, at $8 a pane with a $200 minimum. Divided lights take time and we price honestly for it.
West Hartford is at the far edge of our range, so we take it by request. Text photos to (860) 553-9326 and we will send a flat quote and tell you straight whether the trip makes sense.
