Custom-cut runs for an irregular roofline
Woodstock is spread out and the houses are big. A center-chimney colonial up on Woodstock Hill or a farmhouse off Route 169 or Route 197 carries far more roofline than anything built in the last fifty years, and almost none of it runs in one clean line. Ells, porch roofs, dormers, and additions that arrived a century apart all meet at odd angles.
Store-bought light strings are built for a straight run on a vinyl-sided ranch. Put one on a farmhouse eave and you get a dark gap at one end and six extra feet coiled behind a downspout at the other. Everything we hang is measured and cut to the roofline it is going on, corner to corner, with no leftover and no dark stretch.
We measure the house first, then build each run to length so every eave finishes exactly where it should. That is the whole difference between a display that looks deliberate and one that looks like it came off a hardware store shelf on a Saturday afternoon. Where an ell meets the main block, or a porch roof steps down below the main eave, the spacing has to be handled on purpose, because from the road the eye lands on that junction first.
Wide frontage works in your favor out here. Many Woodstock properties have open lawn between the house and the road and no neighbors crowding the view, so the entire front elevation reads as one composition. Standard coverage is eaves and rooflines, the walkway, porch posts, and one tree, with additional trees, fences, or yard features quoted separately. On a property with real frontage, one well-lit maple in the front yard often does more than another fifty feet of roof.

Get it up before the ground freezes
November is the install window, and around here that is not an arbitrary preference. Stake work and ladder footing both get harder once the ground goes hard, and a long open Woodstock lot catches wind that a sheltered village lot never feels. Booking earlier in the fall means choosing your install week instead of taking whatever is left.
Most homes need three to five hours to install and one to two hours to remove, with the larger farmhouses sitting at the top of that range. Pricing for most homes falls between $600 and $1,400. Removal wraps up by mid-January and every strand, clip, and cord goes back to our shop for storage, which is honestly the part most people are paying us for. Bulbs are covered by a two-year burnout warranty.

Owners on Every Job
Applewood is run by two Pomfret natives, friends since elementary school. One of us is on site for every job, not a rotating crew.
2-Step Power Washing System
First we apply manufacturer-approved detergents that kill mold and algae at the root. Then we rinse with controlled pressure that protects surfaces. That's how we get results that actually last.
Fully Licensed & Insured
General liability and workers' comp on every job. Certificate of insurance on request. Plant-safe soft wash, owner-operated on every job.
