Christmas Light Installation

Danielson borough and the newer streets

Killingly hands us two very different kinds of December house. In Danielson borough the streets are dense, the mill-era houses run tall and narrow, and porches sit close enough together that a display is read from the sidewalk at close range. Out toward Route 101 and I-395 the subdivisions are newer, the rooflines lower and simpler, and the house is usually seen from a car doing forty.

We light both, but not in the same way. A house you walk past rewards detail on porch posts and railings. A house set back from a road rewards a strong unbroken eave line that still holds together at speed. Either way the display is doing its work in the dark, because by early December in this part of Connecticut the light is gone before most people get home.

On borough houses the real challenge is access. Ladder footing on a narrow lot, high eaves on a two or three story front, and cord routing on an older house with hardly any exterior outlets all take planning, and none of it is a good time to work out in the cold on a homeowner ladder. We bring the clips, cords, and timers, and we set the runs so nothing crosses a walk or a stair tread where it can ice over.

The newer homes near Route 101 have simpler roofs but longer, straighter runs, and that is where cutting to length earns its keep. A straight fifty foot eave shows every gap and every doubled-up bulb from the street. On either side of town a standard install covers eaves and rooflines, walkways, porch posts, and one tree, with extra trees, fences, or yard features quoted separately.

The takedown is the part worth handing off

Most people call us the first year because putting lights up is a chore. They call the second year because of the takedown. Getting a ladder back onto a roof edge in January, on a Connecticut house, with ice on the shingles and the dark coming down before five o'clock, is the worst job in the whole business. We handle removal by mid-January, and the lights leave with us and live at our shop until next season, so nothing sits in your cellar all summer.

Installation takes three to five hours on most homes and removal takes one to two. Most homes fall between $600 and $1,400. The lights are commercial grade, cut to fit the house, and carry a two-year warranty against bulb burnout. You pick C9 bulbs or mini lights, and we bring every clip, cord, and timer the job needs, so there is nothing for you to buy beforehand and nothing left over afterward.

Call or text (860) 553-9326, read the full Christmas light installation page, add window cleaning before the company arrives, or reach out here. We cover Danielson, Dayville, and the rest of the Quiet Corner.

Brandon and Quin power washed my home and did an awesome job. The house, deck, gutters, windows, and carport look brand new. Out of 10 stars I give them a 20!
