How Much Does Christmas Light Installation Cost?

Typical installation prices

For most single-family homes, professional Christmas light installation runs $400 to $1,200 for the season. The low end covers a simple roofline on a single-story home; the high end covers two-story peaks, trees, bushes, and walkways. First-year installs cost more when the lights themselves are included, and re-hangs in later years come in lower because the lights are already cut to fit your house.

Every home is different, which is why we quote flat, per-house prices instead of guessing from averages.

What should be included

A professional install is more than stapling up store-bought strands. With Applewood, the price covers custom-fit C9 or mini lights in warm white or full color, measured and cut to your eaves, roofline, trees, and porch, installation in November, takedown in January, and storage until next season. You never climb a ladder, untangle a bin of lights, or hunt for the one dead bulb that kills the strand.

Big-box light strands come in fixed lengths that never quite match a roofline, so you get droops, gaps, and extension cords where you don't want them. Custom-cut commercial-grade lines fit your house exactly, run on heavier wiring, and last for years of seasons when they're taken down properly and stored dry.

When to book

Install calendars in our area fill through October, and the earliest November dates go first. If you want lights up before Thanksgiving, book in October. We install through early December, weather permitting, but choice dates disappear fast.
